National Award winning actor Manoj Bajpayee is stepping into Kollywood. He will be seen playing a crucial role in Vishal's forthcoming venture 'Samaran', being helmed by Thiru of 'Theeradha Vilayattu Pillai' fame.

Aravind Swamy was initially rumoured to play this role and when news got out the actor expressed he wasn’t approached and that he didn’t want to sign films, the director dropped his plans of approaching him. Prakash Raj was roped in but he had to opt out of the film due to few 'unavoidable reasons'.

"It was at this point of time the director felt that Manoj Bajpayee would fit well to the role. When we approached him with little hesitation, the actor agreed to accept the offer, impressed by the script and his character in it," sources say.

With Trisha and Sunaina sharing the screen space with Vishal, 'Samaran' is taking shape fast. The film is about a mountain trekker, who leaves for China on an important task, where he faces unexpected hurdles and problems.
