Nayantara, one of the top-notch actresses in South Indian cinema, is celebrating her birthday today (November 18).

Nayantara aka Nayan made her debut through 'Ayya' and appeared as a de-glam rural belle, she then appeared with the superstar, Rajinikanth in 'Chandramukhi' and then started working with budding and leading younger stars in the industry. This has been quite contrary to other actress' careers as she rose to stardom with her initial films itself.

Call it lady luck's blessing or sheer hard work or both, this numero uno actress of Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam industry, has graced cinema with a sling of hits and never failed to surprise audiences with her metamorphosis through each film and took audience by surprise through her complete hot and glam avatar in 'Billa' where she was seen with Ajith in 2007.

Through her very next film, ‘Yaradi Ne Mohini’, she proved that she can be the perfect girl next door as well. She looked a million bucks in G Venket Ram’s calendar last year, sporting a maroon dress, a curly loose plait and having gone minimal on make up.

Nayan is currently basking on the compliments she has been receiving from yesterday, for her performance in a Telugu film, 'Sri Rama Rajyam', where she plays Sita. The film has received a grand opening and we must say that Nayantara has gotten into the skin of the character she plays.

Nayantara will be entering wedlock with Prabhu Deva shortly and 'Sri Rama Rajyam' is touted to be her last film before her wedding; however the actress has remained tight-lipped about it.
