Two days after Ram Gopal Varma tweeted about it, Puri Jagannadh followed it up on Twitter to tell the world that the idea is indeed being worked out by him and Mahesh.

The director has revealed that the idea of remaking Khaidi was first mooted by them three years back. Since they both admire Chiranjeevi, the idea took shape in them long back.

Puri says that Khaidi is their favourite film. The cult film, which transformed Chiru's career, was directed by Kodandarami Reddy. It would seem that it is very much possible that the second avatar might even go on the floors after Mahesh's year 2012 assignments (Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and Sukumar's film) are done.

It will be a tribute of sorts to both Chiru and Kodanda if the duo can make a terrific remake. Though comparisons will be inevitable, Prince could end up shaking the box office with his intense performance.
