Vikram's Manikkam

This one is not about the Chiyaan, but Vikram Prabhu, grandson of legendary Sivaji Ganesan. The budding actor, who is making his debut with Prabhu Solomon's 'Kumki', has become a good friend with Manikkam, an elephant which plays an important role in the film.
"As per the story, Vikram grows in a forest along with Manikkam. In order to get the act right, he had a 15-day workshop with Manikkam in a jungle before the shoot started. At the end of the session, both became good friends," says the 'Mynaa' director.
Interestingly, there is a connection between elephants and the legendary family from which Vikram hails. The 'Nadigar Thilakam' was popular for his great love towards elephants.
"It is a sheer coincidence that my maiden acting venture is about elephants. I should say it is because of the blessings of my grandpa, whom I miss a lot. His care and affection is something unmatchable," says Vikram, adding: "I would work hard to uphold the tradition created by thatha and appa (Prabhu)."
