Tamil Nadu was classified into five types of landscapes - Kurinji, Mullai, Marutham, Neithal and Palai- as per the ancient Sangam literature and three of them form an important part in Vidharth's forthcoming film 'Kollaikaran'.

Says the film's director Tamilselvan, who is a former associate to Seenu Ramasamy, "Vidharth happens to be a resident of Kurinji landscape but he has the qualities of those in Paalai. He is not playing a negative role in Kollaikaran, as perceived by many."

Giving more details on the project, Tamilselvan says, "Sanchita Reddy, who had played an important role in Thillalangadi is the heroine, and she plays a girl from Marudham landscape. How Vidharth falls for her has been narrated in an interesting manner."

On why he opted to show different types of lands in the film, the director says, "The categorization depending on the nature, location, mood and type of the land has a big impact in Tamil literature. Inspired by it, I am making use of them in Kollaikaran."
