Recognitions and accolades continue to keep 'Deiva Thirumagal' in the limelight. The Vikram-starrer, which is already a critically acclaimed one, will be screened at The Ability Fest 2011, a bi-annual international disability film festival to be held in Chennai.
The event to be held from October 10 to 13 will showcase films on disability from more than 15 countries. The Vijay-directed movie released by UTV Motion Pictures will be screened with audio description - an additional audio track to describe scenes.
Ability Foundation, a Chennai-based NGO, has been conducting the festival since 2005. It works with issues of social inclusion and awareness about cross disabilities. "It is great that Deiva Thirumagal has been selected for another honour," says Vijay.
Award-winning films from countries such as Hungary, Germany, UK and Bangladesh will be screened as part of the film festival. "Our objective is to stress on the need for universal access and the importance of an inclusive society. We want to make sure that good cinema reaches everyone," according to Janaki Pillai, director, operations, Ability Foundation.
