'Kangal Irandaal...' girl Swathi took a break from Kollywood after playing the memorable Thulasi role in the super hit 'Subramanyapuram'. However, the petite damsel is back in Tamil now and is simultaneously acting in two films- 'Poraali' and 'Amali Thumali'.
'Poraali' brings together the 'Subramanyapuram' team back. Directed by Samuthirakani, who had played Swathi's uncle in 'Subramanyapuram', the film has Sasikumar, 'Allari' Naresh and Vasundhara in lead roles, along with Swathi.
"It is an extremely contrast role when compared to Subramanyapuram. I play an independent Chennai girl, whose outlook in life is so very modern. Working with Sasikumar and Samuthirakani once again is a great opportunity. We fondly recall Subramanyapuram days," she says.
'Amali Thumali', directed by popular filmmaker K S Adhiyaman, has Nakul and Shanthanoo Bhagyaraj in lead roles. Initially titled 'Nanba: Two Idiots', the title of the film was later changed into 'Amali Thumali'. "It's another interesting role which I found very apt," she signs off.
