Tusshar Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh starrer 'Kya Super Kool Hai Hum' is all set to arrive on 6th April. However the makers aren't worried about competition from IPL 2012 which would be kick-starting in the same weekend.
"Let's get it right; the entire hoopla around IPL being a major threat for movies is a big hogwash actually. Since there is hardly any major film which is looking at arriving during IPL, it makes sense for 'Kya Super Kool Hai Hum' to arrive then as it gets close to two open months for itself. Ekta is a master strategist and it's a clear mandate for the cast and crew for the film to reach the finishing line soon and meet the 6th April deadline," says a source.
This means that even as IPL 2012 kick-starts on 4th April, the makers are sure that audience would step into theatres a couple of days later even as cricket euphoria would be just setting in.
The source continues, "The biggest threat for any film isn't cricket but competition from another movie that arrives on the same weekend or the subsequent weeks. Last year 'Tanu Weds Manu' came during World Cup cricket and it had so much breathing space for itself that it ended up netting as much as 40 crores. Then F.A.L.T.U. released on the weekend when India was playing the World Cup Finals and it too came close to 30 crores. It is simple; at the end of the day a good film always works and when there is no competition, it is only 'sone pe suhaaga'."
Hope Ekta ends up digging gold this time too with this master plan!
