Siddharth tweeted two months back that 'third-grade news channel sell their families to make up an hour of TV' which angered the journalists in Andhra Pradesh. Piqued by his comments, the media decided to boycott him until he tenders an unqualified apology for his contemptuous comments.

To his dismay, a recent press briefing called by the actor was boycotted by the media. This seems to have made the actor retract his comment and offer an apology.

He expressed: "In reference to one of my tweets in the past regarding certain news channels - My comment should have targeted only them for their actions but not their families. I understand that this has upset the journalistic fraternity & their families. As this was not my intention, I wish to apologize to the families of journalists for hurting their sentiments in any way. Thank you."

This might bring an end to the controversy that’s surrounding the actor from a couple of months.
