Vijayendra Prasad, who scripted many successful films, is making his debut as director for 'Rajanna' produced by Akkineni Nagarjuna on the banner of Annapurna Studios with himself playing the title role and Sneha pairing up with him as heroine.

Nag had agreed to produce the film on a promise from Rajamouli to take care of action scenes, songs and the climax. Though Rajamouli is busy with his experimental film 'Eega', he is finding the time gap to take part in Rajanna shooting.

Presently the film is being shot in Annapurna Studios. As per the sources from the film industry, the film is based on Razakar movement during Nizam's rule. Nag's attire, make-up and his get-up would be the highlights of the movie.

'Rajanna' is most likely to hit the screens in October.
