The popular art director who had teamed with Mani Ratnam in his 'Raavanan,' 'Dil Se,' and 'Guru' passed away yesterday after a suffering a massive heart attack. Some sources reveal that the attack was the result of undertaking wrong medication. It was a shock for many directors in Bollywood and in Chennai when they heard about Samir Chanda's loss.

Samir had been in this field for more than two decades and has worked in blockbuster films including 'Rang De Basanti,' 'Saath Khoon Maaf,' and 'Omkara' in Bollywood. He was also the art director for Sirish Kunder’s directorial 'Joker' which sees Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead.
