After giving raise to many an eyebrow in Kollywood by playing a sex-worker in 'Dhanam', Sangeetha is now set to surprise Tollywood audience too. The film is being dubbed in Telugu under the same title and is getting ready for a release.

Producer Venkat Rao, who is thrilled about releasing the movie in Telugu, says, "It is a bold character beautifully played by Sangeetha. I am sure that the film would become a big hit in Andhra Pradesh."

Saying that some scenes were shot in areas such as Peddapuram, Silukoorpuram and a few places in Hyderabad to add a realistic touch to the film, Venkat however clarifies 'Dhanam' is not just about sex-worker. "It has an important message too," he says.

'Dhanam', which was released in Tamil in 2008, was about a commercial sex-worker who is forced to marry an orthodox Brahmin boy. The turmoil she undergoes in his place forms the crux of the movie. Sangeetha's performance was critically acclaimed.
