"I was initially little apprehensive when my wife Aishwarya approached me to do the lead role in her debut directorial venture. In fact, I wanted to avoid the film. But I couldn't do so as the script was so beautiful," says Dhanush.

'The film has been aptly titled 3 and I am very happy to be a part of it. Because, Aishwarya has ensured that the script has all the elements to entertain the audience. It is going to be a wholesome film," he says.

On 'Mayakkam Enna', in which he has joined hands with elder brother Selvaraghavan after a long gap, Dhanush says, "Unlike my other films with him, Selva has given me enough freedom in Mayakkam Enna. And I am enjoying it."

Reassuring that Superstar Rajinikanth, his father-in-law, is doing extremely fine, Dhanush says, "Rajini sir is super fine and super cool. He is very eager to kick-start Rana, which he will be doing very soon"
