It seems the admiration and affection for Rajinikanth among his fans is getting bigger and bigger each passing day. On Tuesday, 1008 fans of the Superstar tonsured their heads at the Lord Dhandayudhapani Temple in Palani.

This is as part of their offering to the deity at the famous Muruga temple, for the good health of the matinee idol. "We made a vow to shave our heads immediately after Thalaivar was hospitalized in May", one of the fans said.

He added: "Now that the Superstar is fit and fine, we decided this is the right time to express our gratitude to the Almighty, who has fulfilled our prayer. So we had our heads shaved at Palani today. Long live Rajinikanth".

All the 1008 fans are from various 'Narpani Mandrams' of Rajinikanth in and around Tirupur. They also offered prayers at other shrines in the temple town on Tuesday, for the well-being of the Superstar.
