'Munni Badnaam Hui...' from 'Dabangg' was not just a hit in North India but went onto become a rage nationwide. The movie is now being remade in Tamil with Silambarasan playing the lead role, alongside Richa Gangopadhyay.

One question that remains in this remake is, now, who will play Tamil cinema's munni? The item track featured Malaika Arora and is doubtlessly one of those most famous hit item songs of Bollywood cinema.

Our birdies now reveal that, Nayantara, who has bid a tearful goodbye to films, was approached to do this item number by Dharani and Simbu. They asked her to do this number as it can be her last song in Tamil cinema.

It is also said that they offered her a whopping amount, but the actress seems to have put it down subtly, as she wanted 'Sri Rama Rajyam' to be her last film, something she would like her fans to remember her with.

So yes, a hunt is on for Tamil cinema's munni, Malaika Arora who did the original, other Bollywood heroines and top-notch Tamil heroines are being considered for the same.
