Sometime ago, there were a spate of films with factionalism in the backdrop. Many films came up with different heroes with faction subjects.

Now, after the success of 'Magadheera' and 'Arundhati', several producers and directors are making films with periodic subjects in their backdrop. The forthcoming film of Allu Arjun 'Badrinath' too had a periodic story in it.

Now, Nagarjuna is playing in one such periodic film titled 'Damarukam' directed by Srinivasa Reddy and produced by Venkat on the banner of RR Movie Makers. Achireddy is the presenter of the movie.

The shooting of this high- budget film is in progress in Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna temple at BHEL.

Anushka is playing the role of a princess opposite Nagarjuna in this movie. There are about 50 minutes of graphics in this semi-periodic socio-fantasy film.

Sources in the film unit say the storyline is simple and delicate. Lord Siva makes use of snakes as his necklaces. However, one such snake threatens to become as powerful as Lord Siva. How Lord Siva taught a lesson to that snake is the subject.

The film has several artistes including PrakashRaj, Sonu Sood, Pradeep Rawat, Brahmanandam, Ali, MS Narayana, Raghubabu, and others.
