An AIADMK activist filed a defamation complaint against popular actress and DMK member Kushboo for 'defaming' him and allegedly blaming people of Tamil Nadu for her party's defeat in the Assembly elections.

In his complaint on Thursday, V Pugazhendi of Arumbakkam, who is also the State Secretary of the AIADMK in Karnataka, contended that Kushboo who could not digest the massive mandate of the people and the landslide victory of the AIADMK, had nurtured an ill will and with an ulterior motive, issued a statement after the election results were published.

Pugazhendi said had been 'humiliated' and 'defamed' by her remarks appeared in a section of the media that the people of Tamil Nadu had 'lost' and that they were going to 'suffer for next five years.'

Pugazhendhi submitted that he, other cadre and the AIADMK party were humiliated and defamed by her statement. Kushboo had deliberately and intentionally blamed the people by issuing the statement, the complainant alleged and sought to punish her for an offence under Section 500 of the IPC.
