It was like a silent storm Sargunam made his entry into the tinsel town with ‘Kalavani’, one of the very few ‘genuine hits’ of 2010. The director, who is now busy wth ‘Vaagai Sooda Vaa’, will enter wedlock soon.

The resident of Aambalapattu in Thanjavur district will marry Saranya, a resident of Sendangaadu, a nearby village. “It’s an arranged marriage and I am happy with my parents’ choice,” Sargunam says.

The filmmaker was so busy with ‘Vaagai Sooda Vaa’ that he was even unable to attend the betrothal ceremony. “However I spoke to Saranya over phone and pacified her,” he says with a smile.

Quite like ‘Kalavani’, ‘Vaagai Sooda Vaa’ too has Vimal in the lead role. “The film is set in the late 1960s,” the director says, adding: “Saranya has watched Kalavani and she is impressed with my work.”
