The rumour about Superstar Rajinikanth’s health on Monday was no doubt in bad taste. Though it was in the rounds for the past few days, it spread fast and furious on Monday, till a big full-stop was put by top political leaders.

Even as fans in large numbers thronged the Sri Ramachandra Hospital at Porur near Chennai worried about the health condition of Rajini, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Andhra Pradesh former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu visited the hospital to meet the top actor.

Emerging out of the hospital, Modi told reporters: “Superstar Rajinikanth is very fine. He is in a cheerful mood and cracked jokes. I guess he is spending his vacation in the hospital.”

In a similar vein, the Superstar’s longtime friend Chandrababu Naidu said, “I spoke to Rajini and spend some time with him. There is nothing to worry about his health. He is recovering fast.”

Both leaders were in Chennai to attend the swearing-in ceremony of AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for the third time.
