News has spread like wildfire that Farah Khan has been signed as the leading lady opposite Boman Irani for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Shirin Farhad'. However contrary to speculations making the rounds about Farah playing herself, the fact is that the film requires her to get into some serious acting by leaving her trademark characteristic traits behind and get into the skin of the character that has been written for her.
"When Sanjay and Bela read out the script to me a few months back, I was excited but terrified because this was the role that required a proper actress," says Farah, "It isn't frivolous where one can just joke around or be one's own self on screen. Also, despite me being a newcomer as an actress, Sanjay has already warned me that there won't be any flexibility given to me for that. I would have to be on my toes and knowing the kind of task master that Sanjay is, I am already getting shivers."
Resultantly there are multiple reading sessions and workshops already being put into place so that Farah gets the nuances right.
The film goes on floors this October and would be wrapped up by end of November.
