The day which started off spiritually ended up on a happy note for Superstar Rajinikanth, as doctors at a private hospital discharged him. Following this, the matinee idol returned home after a week-long hospitalisation.

However, doctors said he had to rest for at least two weeks. They have also suggested him to go to a cooler place. “He may leave for the United States on a vacation trip,” sources said.

Rajinikanth, who was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai Wednesday last for allergic bronchitis, Tuesday morning visited Goddess Kalikambal Temple and the Pamban Swamigal Ashram to offer prayers.

The top actor took doctors' permission to visit the ashram to meditate for over an hour and perform special poojas at the Kalikambal temple.

He was earlier admitted to the hospital on April 29 for suspected food poisoning soon after the muhurat of his new film ‘Rana’. However, he was discharged the same evening.
