Look’s like 2011 is lucky not only for Actor Jeeva but also for Simbu. His movie ‘Vaanam’ has been declared a hit at the box office! The actor is at the moment busy with his ‘Podaa Podi’ and Simbu has also been roped in for the Tamil remake of the Hindi blockbuster cop story ‘Dabaang’ which saw Sallu playing the protagonist.

We can be sure Simbu will be the best choice to play Chulbul Pandey’s Tamil version. The character has some shades of grey but nonetheless was a huge hit in North India.

We are also hearing that Revathy will be playing Simbu’s mom in the film. The protagonist’s mother has a prominent role in the film. It was Dimple Kapadia who essayed the mother’s role in Hindi. Another surprise in the cast is that ‘Jithan’ Ramesh might get to portray Simbu’s half-brother in the film, suggest sources close to the actor.

There are also reports that Mohan Apparao and T. Ramesh have purchased the remake rights for a whooping but undisclosed amount from the producer of the film Arbaaz Khan. The Hindi original was a smashing hit and recorded more than 14 crore rupees on the first day of release.

There is a lot of importance given for music in almost all Simbu films and if this film is no different then we could also get ready for some chartbuster numbers.

We will get back to you with the other cast and crew who would find a place in this film as soon as they are fixed!
