Buoyed by the bumper response that the music of 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' has been fetching, the makers have now gone ahead and shot an exclusive dance number. Titled 'Chak Glassi', though the song was always a part of the album, it was kept on hold to be shot as the makers wanted the best results for it visually as well.
"In fact the tune itself was finalised after due deliberation. We rejected three songs before short listing this one," informs Abhishek Pathak, the film's producer.
Once the tune was decided, hunt began for the person best suited to choreograph the song. Remo D'Souza was the man entrusted to do the job and though he was busy with his own directorial outing F.A.L.T.U, he kept his promise and shot the song last week even though the film is now just a fortnight away from release.
"This is a special song that arrives at a crucial juncture in the film's narrative when all three lead pairs are holidaying in Goa," director Luv Ranjan adds, "The idea is to project my six leads at their glamorous best instead of allowing this song to pass by as just another song and dance number."
Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, which has have acquired the film, was so glad with the tune and its setting that the film's budget was pronto increased as well. While the film's promotion is going on at full swing, the song by itself cost the makers a cool 75 lakhs.
"We wanted a certain grandeur for the song," says the first time producer, "Remo too wanted to carry forward the standards he has set with 'Chaar Baj Gaye' (F.A.L.T.U.). We were fine with the money being spent as long as the results were great. It did cost us 75 lakhs eventually but the results make it all worth it."
Being premiered across all music channels this weekend, 'Chak Glassi' features Nushrat Bharucha, Sonalli Sehgall and Ishita Sharma burning the dance floors along with Kartik Tiwari, Rayo Bakhirta and Divyendu Sharma. 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' releases all over on 20th May.
