There is a lot of hype after we let you know about the salt and peppery look of Ajith in Mankatha. A similar one sported by the oh-so-handsome Hollywood actor George Clooney. Now we will let you know who precisely the brain behind the natural look of Ajith in Mankatha is. She grabbed the attention of the audience through her creative interpretation of the characters looks in films like Saroja,, Villu, Abhiyum Naanum and Goa.
We are discussing costume designer Vasuki Bhasker.
When director Venkat Prabhu was concerned about the way the protagonist was supposed to look he seems to have voiced his concern to Vasuki. Ajith plays the role of a mafia with a laid back attitude. Since Venkat wanted an all new look which has not been seen so far in Tamil films, Vasuki came up with a whole lot of new looks and styles. Then finally she landed on this casual but appealing look for Ajith, and when they tried it on the actor he looked handsome, as always! Director Venkat and Ajith seem to have been pleased with this look and agreed to go ahead with it.
Vasuki has revealed that Venkat Prabhu is very easy going person and can be easily approached. Speaking on the heroines look Vasuki has revealed that for Trisha she has played with colours. Her outfits look very cheerful and at the same time very ethnic. Trisha who is a thorough professional is sure to carry off any look with ease and look lovely on screen.
The fans of Thala have been stumped by the new look for their hero through some teaser posters which have been released are eagerly waiting for the film to hit theatres. Insiders reveal that Mankatha will hit theatres by June, just ahead of the monsoons.
Surprise came knocking on Vasukis door with an offer to work with Director Bala; this is the first time the director has hired a costume director to work for in his upcoming film Avan Ivan starring Arya and Vishal. Director Bala who usually designs and conceptualizes his characters looks, this time, although he already had a concept for the costumes, he seems to have sat with Vasuki and together they kept getting the looks better and more appropriate for the characters. Vasuki also expressed that Bala is very open to new ideas and that she is honoured to have worked with him.
Kudos to you Vasuki! We would love to see you styling the outfits of our men and women of Kollywood, each with a unique touch which will take your work to greater heights!
