For all Dhanush fans who are waiting for his upcoming ‘Mappillai’ to hit screens across Tamil Nadu, here is some great news. The actor has reportedly tweeted that he will watch the film amidst fans from Albert Theatre on April 8. ‘Maapillai,’ which is today’s take on the yester year movie ‘Mappillai’ that starred Superstar, will see Dhanush opposite Hanksika Motwani. Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala too will be essaying an important role in the film. This will mark her re-entry in to Tamil.

Dhanush will be home after a song shoot for ‘Venghai’ from Kaula Lampur. Director Hari who is popular for his edge-of-the-seat, fast-paced films usually has a couple of songs shot from foreign locales. ‘Venghai’ too seems to belong to the same league with the lead couple Dhanush and Tamannah packing off to KL for a song shoot.

The actor narrowly missed witnessing the World Cup finals match between India and Sri Lanka with in-laws Rajinikanth and Latha. He was present along with wife Aishwarya, cheering the Men In Blue for the semi finals when India beat neighbours Pakistan. The actor was unable to attend the finals because of prior commitment to the ‘Venghai’ team for shooting in Malaysia.

‘Venghai’ has music by Devi Sri Prasad who gave us some slow melodies and some crowd-pulling, foot-tappy numbers in his previous association with Hari through ‘Singam’ which had Suriya and Anushka in the lead. The promo teasers of ‘Mappillai’ which are out now look good and seem to have all the right elements to pull off a hit film.

We will get back with more updates on this front soon!
