Not just Kamal Haasan, but those who are close to him too are interested at doing their bit to the society. On Monday, Gowthami inaugurated the Sunshine Store, a retail shop catering to the needs of cancer patients, at Apollo Specialty Hospital.

The store will sell products like wigs in different styles, colours and lengths, breast prosthesis and pressure garments among other things. It is to be noted that the actress herself fought cancer successfully a few years ago.

Coming back to the startline lines of this snippet, Kamal, along with members of his welfare association, organised a charitable event recently. He distributed several sewing machines to needy women and three-wheelers to the differently abled.

He also helped heart patients who could not afford surgery by donating funds. The event also marked the formation of a youth wing to his association. Speaking on the occasion, the ‘Ulaga Nayagan’ advised his fans to help the needy in whichever way they could.
