The Coimbatore district administration has denied permission to shoot '7am Arivu', the Suriya-starrer directed by A.R.Murugadoss, near a check dam, following protests by environmental activists.

If reports are to be believed, the cast and crew of the Udhayanidhi Stalin's production venture wanted to shoot the film near the dam which is very close to reserve forest area and erected huge sets resembling a palace.

However, environmental activists raised serious objections saying that the shooting would contaminate the check dam which stores the Siruvani river water. "Also, the place is the habitat of various animals and birds," they said.

Following this, Coimbatore District Collector P.Umanath has denied permission to shoot the movie there. He has also reportedly ordered to remove palatial sets made of plaster of paris.
