Director-turned-actor Karu Palaniappan, who has been receiving accolades for playing a daring role in his maiden acting venture itself, says he is ready to continue donning the greasepaint.

The ‘Mandhira Punnagai’ hero however says it all depends on the roles he comes across. “I will work for other directors too. At the same time, I will continue directing movies,” he says.

Karu Palaniappan, who started his career as a journalist, says, “I was glued to reading books right from my childhood. This habit equipped me with a wide understanding about people and things.”

On the appreciations he received for ‘Mandhira Punnagai’, he says, “a letter from K Balachander sir has put me on cloud nine. I grew up watching his movies and such a great filmmaker has lauded me.”
