The ‘Mungaru Male’ heroine in four years of career nearing 30 films has recently played double role in ‘Nee Raani Naa Maharani’ and she is now in twin languages ‘Tulu and Kannada’ that is her first historical film ‘Beere Dev Poonja’.

Pooja Gandhi is ‘Raja Narthaki’ with a mission in the film. The film has completed 15 days of shooting in the direction of Dhanraj the national award winning director for ‘Kote Chennaiah’.

Devu Poonja is a strong warrior in the history of Dakshin Kannada. From the super natural powers he becomes head weight and had to bow because of over confidence. It is a 400 years old subject being transformed in silver screen. The state play and Yakshagana of Deva Poonja is familiar in Dakshin Kannada district.

Pooja Gandhi doing the historical film for the first time is happy because the film will be placed for national award. It is for this purpose producer cum director Dhanraj has taken up this film. Suresh Babu is the cameraman and it was tough doing the shooting because of period consciousness.

Siddarth of 30 plus films plays the title role. Jayalakshmi Archana, Naveen D Padeel, Manohar Prasad, Master Sajan, Dr Mohan Alva, Prakash Padubidri, Ashwini, Kishore Ballal, Santosh Shetty are in the cast.

Chandrasekhar Suvarna Malki is the art director. Rajesh Brahmavar is the choreographer.
