A producer has alleged that Vimal of ‘Pasanga’ fame has been demanding huge remuneration to act in his film thanks to the success of ‘Kalavani’, in which the actor had played the protagonist.

According to Shanmugavel, producer of the under production ‘Kalingathuparani’, the film went to floors in November last year after he roped in Vimal for the lead role for a salary of Rs six lakh.

“Vimal assured me that he would act in my film after completing ‘Kalavani’. However he is now demanding Rs 60 lakh as remuneration saying that ‘Kalavani’ had become a blockbuster and his reach is big now,” he said.

Reacting to the allegation, Vimal said, “Never had I demanded Rs 60 lakh from Shanmugavel. The film was dropped due to a rift between the director Aindhu Kovilan and the producer. So I had given my dates to other projects. The producer now wants to revive the project, but I am unable to give call-sheet.”
