‘Peranmai’ was one different type of entertainer that took Ayngaran to further reputation. A commercial film with a social message was a hit among youth and the image make over of ‘Jayam’ Ravi from chocolaty to rugged was also smoothly accepted. Jananathan who was always a socially responsible film maker again came good after relevant films like ‘Iyarkai’ and ‘Eee’.

Many people had an eye on the winning combination of ‘Jayam’ Ravi and Jananathan to rope them for their films. The winner at the moment sees to be Aascar Films which has signed the pair for a film. Aascar Films is reputed for big budget super flicks like ‘Dasavatharam’. It is the one producing Vijay’s ‘Velayudham’.
