It is happening and happening in hoards. There were a few before and then it became most but in future it may become almost all. We are talking about directors turning actors. The trend was sizzling and reached the height when the two of the finest directors’ Tamil cinema has ever produced - K. Balachander and Bharathiraja played the important roles in ‘Rettaisuzhi’.

The latest director to board the acting wagon is Agathiyan who directed cult films like ‘Kadhal Kottai’ and ‘Gokulathil Seethai’. Agathiyan played a cameo in the climax scene of ‘Gokulathil Seethai’

But now he is playing a full fledged character in the film 'Avargalum Ivargalum' produced by C. Kamaraj. Two young pairs are also making debut. Srikanth Deva scores the music and debutante director Veerapandiyan will be at the helm of affairs. The director says Agathiyan will become an actor in demand after his film. Let's see.
