Vimal is getting ready for an acid test with less than 24 hours left for the release of ‘Kalavani’. This second film of the ‘Pasanga’ actor is expected to decide his future in Kollywood, a place known for honouring young talents.

“I am excited. At the same time, I am confident about the film’s success, as director Sargunam has shaped up the movie well. ‘Kalavani’ is a nice story which has all the elements to attract all sections of the audience,” he says.

On the movie’s story, Vimal says, “The film centers on a crook and a girl falling in love with him. The movie is set in the backdrop of Thanjavur district. I underwent rigorous training to speak Thanjavur dialect well.”

The actor, whose next is ‘Thoonga Nagaram’, produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri, says he would like to do roles blended with heroism and comedy. “Because, these are the two things that go down well with the masses,” he points out.
