“We wanted to show the real north Chennai to the audience. For that, we shot ‘Dhrohi’ on the streets of Royapuram with the support of local people,” says Srikanth, who is playing the role of an angry young man in the film directed by Sudha K Prasadh.

Throwing more light, he says, “We didn’t want the public to interfere the shoot. So, before starting the formal shooting, I went to Royapuram along with cinematographer Alphonse Roy for three days and did some photo shoot there.”

“The public, who thronged to see us in the initial days, started to support us from the fourth day. Thanks to them we were able to complete the shoot without any disturbance,” says the actor, who is undergoing an image-change with this movie.

Saying Vishnu of ‘Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu’ fame plays the other hero in this film, Srikanth says he is happy to share the screen space with Poonam Bhajwa, Pooja and Poorna. “A former assistant of Mani Ratnam, director Sudha knows very well how to extract job from us,” he says.
