Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, who went through the screenplay of ‘Magizhchi’, is extremely happy about the film and commended that it would be spoken forever, the movie’s director V Gowthaman has said.

The filmmaker, while saying that Tamils and Malayalees appear as characters speaking the two languages in his movie, added that plans are on to release the film all over the world next month. “It is a movie for everyone,” he said.

“The film is based on a novel written by eminent author Neela Padmanabhan, a Sahithya Academy Award Winner who writes in Tamil and Malayalam. We spent 12 years building the screenplay based on the novel,” the director said.

“Magizhchi is a genuine record of real life that portrays affection, kindness love and passion and very nicely upholds the now-dying values of relationships. The story line opens in the 13th century and touches on 1985 and 2010, thus spreading over three periods,” he added.
