The Madras High Court has granted anticipatory bail to filmmaker Seeman in a case relating to the attack on the house of actor Jayaram in Chennai on February 5.
In his order, Justice K N Basha said in the event of arrest, Seeman should be released on bail on his executing a bond for Rs 25,000 and two sureties. The Judge said Seeman should also report to the Valasaravakkam police daily for two weeks and thereafter as and when required.
Following a few comments made by Jayaram on his domestic help who is a Tamil, his house came under attack allegedly by the members of 'Naam Thamizhar Iyakkam,' for which Seeman is the leader.
The issue came to an end after Jayaram tendered an unconditional apology following which Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi said "let us forget and forgive following the footsteps of Anna".
