Call it a big attempt. MGR Nambi, who launched a state-of-the-art film studio in Chennai recently, has started 'Kala Bhairavi', a horror-thriller. The film will be produced and directed by him in five languages including English.

Bharath Reddy, who played a tough police officer in Kamal Haasan's 'Unnaipol Oruvan', dons the lead role. Ramesh Khanna and ‘Ganja’ Karuppu are in the cast. Hollywood artistes Elisia and Robert Johnson have also been roped in.

"Horror movies are a rarity in the country. The earlier attempts too have been inspired by some novels. 'Kala Bhairavi' will be a thriller with unexpected twists and turns," says Bharath Reddy.

Joining him, Nambi says, "Since horror movies have a universal appeal, we are planning to do the movie in Telugu, Hindi and English besides Tamil. I was associated with matinee idol M G Ramachandran for a long time. His knowledge of cinema was wide. It inspired me to start this venture."
