Aravind Akash’s mobile phone has been ringing non-stop right from the day ‘Goa’ was released. And he claims most calls he received were from women that too congratulating him for his ‘gay act’ in the Venkat Prabhu’s film.

“I would like to say a big thanks to Venkat Prabhu for giving me the role. The character I played in ‘Goa’ was totally new to Tamil cinema. Hence I followed the footsteps of last year’s Oscar winner Sean Penn, who played a gay activist in a film.”

“Playing a gay is no doubt a real challenge for the actor in me. The congratulatory messages I have been receiving implicitly say I have played my part well. I would also like to thank all my team members in Goa,” he says with all smiles.

When asked about his experience to be one among the 10 in ‘Goa’, Aravind replied, “I am ready to act even in a single scene if it is a Venkat Prabhu film. He is a talented filmmaker and it’s he who gave me a break in Chennai 28.”
