Sangeetha is all set to become the first heroine of Tamil cinema to play a don. She is doing the ‘challenging role’ in ‘Thambikottai’, a film directed by Ammu Ramesh with Narain and Poonam Bajwa as protagonists.

“I have an important role in the movie. Since there are not many actresses who had played a don before, I found no predecessors to follow and hence trying on my own. I am giving my best with the help of director Ammu Ramesh,” she says.

Claiming that she is very selective before committing a film, the actress says, “Because I am aware that audiences expect some difference when I play a particular role. This is the case ever since ‘Uyir’ and ‘Pithamagan’ happened.”

‘Thambikottai’ is produced by producer Balasundaram's (of the famous Devar Films) close relative R K Suresh for Thambikottai Rajeswari Films. Prabhu, Meena and Kausalya play prominent roles in the movie. Music is by D Imman.
