‘Gokak - A Desi Film

'Gokak' was a movement in Karnataka called as 'Gokak Chaluvali'. When the Kannada language faced some problems the Gokak Chaluvali was taken up by literary and film personalities. That in fact gave primacy to Kannada language more in the state. That is now the title of a Kannada cinema.

SV Productions SV Babu and director Shivamani is picking fresh talent via talent search. A television channel is coming to the help for excavating new talent.

For ‘Josh’ SV Productions has made the talent search from 12000 applicants and the same practice in extended format is conducted for nearly 60 plus new actors for ‘Gokak’. With the help of television channel the reality show will be conducted and as the final rounds come up the audience would select the proper artists for the film of SV Productions.

Shivamani is inspired with the story of 15th century of a Muslim woman in the family of Rudre Gowda. This is the content Shivamani read in writer Ganeshaiah novel ‘Kittur Niranjini’. The poems of Uttar Kannada belt stalwarts like Shishunala Sharief, Varakavi Da Ra Bendre, Ananda Kandha, Dr Chandrasekhara Kambara and others will be utilized in this film. Lyricist of this genre Kaviraj will also be penning a few songs of that smell and ingredients.

After Shivamani and SV Babu return from ‘Josh’ remake in Tamil – that is titled as ‘Yuvan’ in May the film ‘Gokak’ go on the floors with Santosh Rai Pathaje camera work, V Harikrishna Music and Mohan B Kere art direction.

Producer SV Babu extremely happy with the ‘Gokak’ film developments said the main purpose of keeping this title is to meet the requirements of the Uttar Kannada region. That does not mean the film cater to that region. It has all the flavor and ingredients for people of Karnataka he says.
