The latest addition to the list of films acquired by Sun Pictures is Dhanush starrer ‘Aadukalam’. The film production and distribution arm of Sun Television Network has bought the release rights of the movie from the original producer Group Company.

It is said the movie, backed by non-stop promotions on print and electronic media owned by the Sun Group, will hit the screens soon. This is the second Dhanush starrer flick to be acquired by Sun, with the first being ‘Padikadhavan’.

‘Aadukalam’ brings together Dhanush, director Vettrimaran and producer Group Company, after the grand success of their earlier venture ‘Polladhavan’. G V Prakash is scoring the music and songs are said to be the major highlight of the film.

The story is about a Madurai-based youth (Dhanush), who falls in love with an Anglo Indian woman. Delhi-based model Tapsi is playing the heroine role, for which Trisha was roped in earlier. “Quiet like ‘Polladhavan’, ‘Aadukalam’ too will be close to reality,” says Vettrimaran.
