B Jaya is a woman director, who successfully made a debut stint with 'Chantigadu'. The popular film journalist and writer, made her foray in cinema with the movie 'Chantigaadu', which garnered profits for the producers.

She continued her work as a director with the movie 'Premikulu', in which Kamna Jhatamalini made her debut, but the film only received a lukewarm response.

Jaya also directed 'Gundammagari Manavadu' starring Ali in the lead and 'Savaal'. She is now regarded as one of the good directors in the industry. She is married to the popular film journalist B.A. Raju, along with whom she floated the production company Superhit Friends. The couple have made movies like 'Premalo Pavani Kalyan 'and 'Chantigadu' under the same banner.

The director has recently lent the story to the 'Bendu Apparao', which proved that she was a writer to reckon with.
