Talented young actress from Mollywood Geethu Mohandas’s debut short as a director ‘Kelkkunundo’ (Are You Listening) won the Golden Lamp Tree award for the best shot film at the IFFI. The movie was selected from 206 films from 26 countries, which vied for the prestigious award carrying a sum of five lakhs of Indian rupees.

The movie was selected for the directorial integrity and for the effectiveness in handling the theme with needed intensity in visual imagery. The award is for a well-crafted and poignantly acted film about the trauma of progress seen through the innocence and blindness of a child. opined the jury chairman Shaji N Karun. The actress was also present in the function when the announcement was made by the jury.

‘Kelkkunundo’ is produced and cinematographed by Rajeev Ravi, who tied the marital knot with Geethu, a couple of week’s ago. This 22 minutes short has been already selected for the Rotterdam film Festival and Mumbai International film Festival

‘This is an award for all the crew members who cooperated with the movie’ –said a visibly thrilled director in Geethu, after the announcement.
