Expressing shock over a civil suit filed against the company and an injunction granted by the Madras High Court restraining the release of their production venture ‘Goa’, sources in Ocher Studios said they were not aware of such a case in the court.

A case against us in the High Court and an injection order on ‘Goa’ are really news to us. Our Legal Team is working to Resolve it, highly placed sources in the company owned by Soundarya Rajinikanth said.

“The court has stayed the release of ‘Goa’ till December 11. We are planning to release the film only in January 2010. So the order would not affect the film’s release as things would be settled before that,” they added.

The Madras High Court on Tuesday granted an injunction restraining Ocher Studios and Gemini Colour Lab from releasing the ‘Goa’ till December 11. Justice G Rajasuria ordered notice to respondents returnable by that date, following a civil suit filed by NAPC Properties managing director Varun Manian.

In his petition, Manian said the managing director of Ocher, Soundarya Rajinikanth, had borrowed Rs 1.6 crore from him for producing the movie and failed to repay it as promised.
