Karthik who had a special seat in fan’s hearts during late 80s was the only lovable romantic hero of Tamil cinema till Vijay and Ajith made it here. Due to some unknown reasons he faded out of the industry and entered politics.

Looks like Karthik is back to the business that he knows the best! Yup we can see our Navarasa Nayagan on screen as a new leaf soon. In fact he is seemingly following his contemporaries Sathyaraj and Prabhu.

Oh yeah! Now in the industry, Prabhu and Sathyaraj and sought-after people for playing strong roles and get handsome salary with ease. As we had it earlier Karthik is playing an important role in Mani Ratnam's ‘Ravana’ and will appear as ‘Jayam’ Ravi's dad in an untitled project. Leaving these two Karthik is doing the role of Arun Vijay’s big brother in ‘Maanja Velu’. Sources close to the film say that Karthik will don a negative shade in this one.
