Meera Nandan who came in for much praise for her debut role in ‘Vaalmiki’, has been signed on to play the heroine in a movie titled ‘Suriya Nagaram’, that is set in Madurai.

Rahul of ‘Moscowin Kaveri’ fame is paired opposite her. The movie is directed by Chellamuthu, who was previously an assistant to directors like Keyaar, P Vasu and R V Udhayakumar.

Speaking about the film, he says, “it is a poignant, romantic tale set against the backdrop of Madurai, known as the 'city that never sleeps'. Unlike other films made in and around the city, ‘Suriya Nagaram’ will capture its hitherto unseen and unexplored areas.”

Filmmaker R V Udhayakumar, who had directed blockbusters like ‘Ejaman’, ‘Ponnumani’ and ‘Kizhakku Vasal’, has been roped in for a vital role in this movie, being produced by A V Screens.
