‘Subramaniapuram’ that stole the hearts of many in our State was selected for an international film festival.

The film was screened in Rome for the ASIATICO film festival. We hear that it’s the only Tamil movie that was screened in the festival. Following the screening, there was a questioning session where the audience asked questions on the movie.

Director Sasi Kumar was questioned whether he was inspired by Quentin Tarantino - the director of pulp fiction and Kill Bill series. The audience also threw questions regarding violence that was depicted in the movie. Answering this, the director said he was inspired by his locality where he grew up.

Cinematographer Kathir accompanied the director to the fest.

It’s worthy to mention about what an Italian girl quoted about Indian films. Looks like she thought that Indian cinema means only Bollywood, and after seeing this movie she has come to know about Tamil films too.
