‘Vettaikkaran’ that missed the Diwali race was eagerly awaited for this Pongal. The mass masala entertainer completed its entire shooting with a song sequence in Pune and is almost ready to hit the floor. However gossip mills is abuzz that certain parts of the film are to be re-shot as few scenes are not up to the satisfactory mark. Sun Pictures has finally put an end to this guessing game. The big banner announced today that the movie will hit the screens on December 18th.

On the other hand sources close to the film had it that ‘Vettaikkaran’ has passed the scissors of censor with a U/A certificate last week.

This 49th product of Ilaya Thalapathy has Tollywood’s oomph lady Anushka pairing opposite him and is directed by debutant Babu Sivan. ‘Vettaikkaran’ has cinematography by Gopinath and editing by V T Vijayan. Vijay Antony, who is scoring music for the first time for a Vijay movie, says, “Usually, people say my compositions are full of energy. But, when they combine with Vijay’s energetic steps, the effect is bound to be something else.”

Phew… So, now ‘Vettaikkaran’ is not gonna clash with ‘Asal’ for Pongal!
