Jananathan is brimming with joy thanks to his Deepavali release ‘Peranmai’ receiving rave reviews from the audience. “The action-packed film shot in real locations has appealed to youngsters and children alike”, he says proudly.

“I am very much thrilled. With three hits in a row (‘Iyarkai’, ‘E’ and ‘Peranmai’), my responsibility has increased manifold. I have to live up to the expectations of the masses now,” he muses.

The filmmaker adds: “Not just youngsters but even children like it. They seem to enjoy the encounter scenes inside the forests. I felt as if I have accomplished a great deal when I saw kids thronging the theatres.”

Throwing light on how the action scenes were choreographed, he says, “Our stunt director ‘Minnale’ Michael took pains to shoot the action scenes in as realistic manner as possible. Then, there was a martial arts expert, who plays one of the villains in the film. He also brought in his expertise for the stunts.”

On shooting inside dense jungles, he says, “When I conceived the story, I decided to shoot the film in jungles which were hitherto unexplored. With the help of Forest Guards, we toured the forests in Kerala. Travelling with the whole unit with all the heavy equipment was a difficult task. I think it was our dedication and zeal to give a quality film that helped us rise to the challenge.”
