'Peranmai' has proved that a hero need not utter punch dialogues or run around trees with heroine to win praise from the audience, says ‘Jayam’ Ravi.

Happy with the good response the Deepavali release has evoked, the actor says, "the film has proved that by remaining casual on screen an actor can excel."

"The hard work and sincere efforts by our whole team led by Jananathan won us right rewards. My thanks to the producers Ayngaran International," he says.

On playing a tribal youth, he says, "When Jananathan narrated the story to me, I was confident that it had immense potential for me to perform. It was a complex character. I was seen as a romantic youth till then. But 'Dhuruvan' proved everyone that I can handle action roles too well."

Ask him about his forthcoming venture 'Thillalangadi', he says, "directed by my brother Raja, the film is totally different from 'Peranmai'. It is a commercial entertainer."
